But no matter how difficult it was, it always worked in the end. As long as the usual rules didn’t apply, everything was “ the norm” for my Intuos 1.

Sometimes the older driver worked better, sometimes the newer one did the charm. Sometimes the tablet had to be plugged in, sometime it mustn’t be.

I never took less than 3 attemps to install the damn thing. But even back then the happyness couldn’t be taken for granted cause I always had some problems with the driver installation. Back then, the newest was Intuos 2, so when I was holding my cute little Inutos 1 A5 in my hands for which I only paid about 50 bucks, I was insanely happy. I would cover it when not in use, or if I did need to wipe of some dust, I'd use a soft dry cloth or hankerchief.Long, looong time ago, when I still had time, creativity and the will to paint, I bought a second hand Wacom Intuos 1 Graphic Tablet. I used to store mine in an old laptop sleeve, but XP-Pen does have cases available on their store too that fit the Deco Pro S and M sizes. I only realized they had these after I ordered mine and probably would have ordered one or two just for the added durability, but it isn't all that necessary. Light scratches on the surface is totally normal, but if you want to preserve the tablet surface, maybe it's worth getting one of the protective films they sell for the Deco Pro. I think this helps your pen nibs last a little longer. So one thing I did was adjust my pressure curve in the tablet settings so that I don't have to apply as much pressure to get heavy strokes. Often XP-Pen run's sales though, so if you aren't in a hurry, then you might want to wait for the Deco Pro to come down a little from its base price to save yourself a little extra. The Deco 01v2 is a little cheaper, has a slightly bigger working area and has much the same specs minus the wheels and nice design. The Deco Pro is definitely one I'd consider getting again in the future if I needed to.

The long-term use was definitely an important thing for me to focus on, especially when it came to the reviews I did of older Wacom Intuos tablets. Thank you for that comment, and you're welcome! I'm really glad that you found this review helpful. Brad Colbow has an excellent channel with lots of tablet reviews from various brands. Maybe also consider competing brands like Huion or XP-Pen, but definitely watch more reviews on those before making a decision. And I know how in some countries, even the cheaper tablets cost quite a bit more than they do in the US. The Cintiqs are still a big spend for most, and a bit excessive if a person is at beginner level.

I also have a review of that on the channel if you want to check it out. Many people still using the Intuos 3 quite happily. But for something you want to get serious with in the long term, perhaps an Intuos 4 or later model. I’d buy the Intuos 2 just for fun and to have has part of the collection if I have some spare cash. Wacom’s current base Intuos was going for a steal on AmazonUS recently… I think it was $40.

Don’t know how long the old drivers will work as the operating systems update over the next few years.

Yeah, I also think it’s better to go with something newer, more for compatibility reasons.
